Public Policy and Administration Department (PPAD)

has been selected as a global host site for the 2018 NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
The topic for the 2018 competition is "Pandemic Crisis Management and Global Health Security". The simulation will focus on the roles MPA and MPP graduates would have to play in the event of a pandemic outbreak of a deadly infectious disease. The competition will be conducted by NASPAA, the global association of graduate schools of public policy and administration, and programmed by the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. NASPAA is holding this competition at 11 sites in the United States and five sites internationally, Central European University, Hungary; KDI School of Public Policy, South Korea; The American University in Cairo’s School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, Egypt; Universidad de los Andes, Colombia; and University of International Business and Economics and School of Public Administration, China.

This is the first time NASPAA is holding this competition in the MENA region. In the previous years, a number of our students have participated in other competition sites.  This year, it is a great opportunity for more of our students to participate as AUC became an official host site.
