The AUC School of Sciences and Engineering is pleased to host Professor Edward Frees as a distinguished visiting professor (DVR) in the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science during the period of February 13 - 21 as part of the Distinguished Visiting Researcher Lecture Series. 

DVR Edward Frees is giving a talk entitled, "Joint Modeling of Customer Loyalty and Risk in Personal Insurance"

Edward Frees is a Professor at the Univ.ersity of Wisconsin Madison and Hickman-Larson Chair of actuarial science. Frees is a fellow of both the American Society of Actuaries and the American Statistical Association. He is an eminent scholar with an extensive record of publications and professional presentations.
Frees is the author of over 65 refereed research publications, three books and eight book chapters and encyclopedia entries. He is the recipient of numerous external research grants from the US Bureau of the Census, National Science Foundation, The Society of Actuaries, Social Security, Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, Casualty Actuarial Society, Verisk Analytics and Wisconsin Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
Frees participated in over 100 professional meetings and conferences and has an extensive record of academic and professional service. He taught a wide range of courses ranging from introductory courses in statistics to courses in mathematical statistics, regression and time series analysis, risk theory, actuarial mathematics, loss models, non-parametric statistics and panel data analysis.
